Sermons
At Knox, we gather for creative and heartfelt worship, opening ourselves to experience God in new ways. Stimulating sermons and uplifting music are at the heart of our praise.
Various styles of music and instruments are used, as well as drama, allowing many to take part. A high-quality audiovisual system also enhances our worship experience. The service is about 60 to 75 minutes long including a focused time with children and youth.
Music
Our music director and choir lead the congregation in a variety of music including both praise and worship songs and favourite hymns. Tambourines, drums or guitars are sometimes added in by both the children and adults. Music is joyful but sometimes quiet to encourage reflection.
If you enjoy singing more often than during the Sunday morning service, the choir practices Thursday evenings at 7:00pm and everyone is welcome. Children practice singing after
the morning service for a short time (while their parents enjoy coffee) for the children’s choir.
Children and Teens
Children are welcome at Knox and are encouraged to participate in the service. Typically, school aged children join their parents for the beginning of the service. After the children’s message they leave to enjoy organized activities, related to the story, such as crafts and games.
Younger children and infants may be cared for and play in the nursery or stay with their parents in the service. Teens sometimes meet in our youth room, help with the service and may choose to participate in classes to explore and learn about our faith. Our leading with care policy ensures that your children are well cared for in a safe environment.
The Youth Group (C.H.I.P.S) meets one to two times per month for social events and faith learning activities.
