Who We Are
Knox Dundas is a gathering of people who want to experience God and explore life in all of its fullness through his son Jesus Christ. At Knox you are welcome to join each week in authentic worship through music, prayer, drama and teaching. You will have opportunities to connect with others who seek to live as followers of Jesus, growing in faith, active in ministry in our congregation and in our community.
Our Mission
Our purpose is to walk with Christ; love, support, and encourage one another; and be a reflection of God's love in the world.
We seek to live out our purpose through:
-
Engaged, meaningful and authentic worship.
-
The creation and enjoyment of activities and experiences that build and foster community and a sense of welcome and belonging.
-
Participation in opportunities aimed at spiritual growth, learning and sharing.
-
Care for all of God’s creation including our environment and all living things.
-
Activities, action and events to promote peace and justice in the world.
Our Policy
Leading With Care
The Leading with Care policy is not about us as individuals. It is about us as a body of Christ—a denomination—trying to ensure the highest quality of ministry by offering our best to Christ. It is a time for entering the age of lost innocence, whether real or imagined.
The Presbyterian Church in Canada is committed to providing safe environments for all persons, including children, youth, vulnerable adults, and those who minister to and with them. The church’s ministry includes times of worship, service, study and play in all milieus (e.g. church courts, congregations, camps) that fall under the jurisdiction of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. All staff, both volunteer and paid, must support this policy.
Why should we lead with care?
-
Our Lord modeled for us how to lead with care as he healed the sick and infirm, and welcomed the young, the weak, and the vulnerable
-
Some people in our church need special protection, it is important they feel safe with us
-
It affirms our commitment to training and supporting teachers and leaders in our churches so that children/youth/vulnerable adults will grow in faith and the love of Christ in a climate of safety.
